Robert W. Sternfels. With great sadness we report Warbirds Unlimited lost a dear friend with the passing of Robert W. Sternfels. Mr. Sternfels was
a true American hero and exemplified the "Greatest Generation". Please visit his obituary and read his story in our Honor Roll. Rest in Peace and Godspeed Mr. Sternfels.

​Nov. 10, 2017 Warbirds Unlimited supported a fund raiser for the Thunderbird Field II Veterans Memorial and displayed our award winning North American AT-6 at the event:

Copperstate Fly-In 2017 Winner 1st Place Military: Warbirds Unlimited's AT-6C was awarded 1st Place Military at the 2017 Copperstate Fly-In.

​Our initial 50/50 raffle drawn at Copperstate Fly-In on 10/28/17 was won by Pat H. with ticket # 046323. Pat H. split the pot of $2460 with Warbirds Unlimited.

City of Mesa employees visited Warbirds Unlimited for "Selfie Day" August 14, 2017:
Warbirds Unlimited recently hosted a tour/field trip on history and aviation for the Fountain Hills Christian Home Educators. We hope the visit has peaked their interest in aviation!

January 28, 2017 In Memorial: Warbirds Unlimited lost a dear friend and ever present contributor in the passing of Rickey Sherman. Rest in Peace Rickey, you will be missed by many.
March 25, 2017: Warbirds Unlimited displayed our Boeing Stearman and North American AT-6C at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, AZ for the annual Falcon Field Open House.
January 19, 2017 Warbirds Unlimited supported "Wings and Wheels" at the Scottsdale Airpark. See photos here!

  • Warbirds Unlimited sponsored a tour of Airwing Arizona CAF December 14, 2016, for Cub Scout Pack 951 from Mesa. As seen from the above photo, everyone who attended had a wonderful time touring the aircraft and getting a sense of the history involved with each.
  • ​​Warbirds Unlimited exhibited at the Copperstate Fly-in at Falcon Field Airport-Mesa, Arizona October 28-29, 2016, where our 1942 Boeing Stearman (A75-N1 PT17) took awards as "Reserve Grand Champion Restoration" as well as "Military" category 2nd place​. ​Congratulations Warbirds Unlimited!   • Fourth of July 2016: Warbirds Unlimited participated in a 27 ship flyover of the Scottsdale Princess resort on July 2 and 3 in observance of Independence Day. Aircraft in the flyover included T-6s (including ours), Yaks, Stearman, CJs, RVs, T-34s and Harmon Rocket and a Bonanza. Warbirds Unlimited was Alpha 2 on the wing of the lead aircraft.  ​​
  • MEMORIAL DAY 2016: Memorial Day 2016 has passed, but don't wait until next year to member to give thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Bless all our veterans and we will never forget those who gave all for our country.
  • IN MEMORIAL: Warbirds Unlimited participated in a missing man formation flyover honoring the memory of Jesse Goodwin and Ataberk Besier who lost their lives in a tragic accident at Falcon Field in May 2016.
  • Warbirds Unlimited Chief Pilot Dick Jones receives FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, for demonstrated professionalism, skill and expertise in aviation for over 50+years! Congratulations Dick, Warbirds Unlimited is very proud of you!​​
